Good day to you all,

To begin 2012, TMC is making a few changes. Nothing drastic. Just a few enhancements, if you will. We feel that in so doing we will be able to bring you more articles in a timelier matter. So here goes…

The Village News scroll on the home page is now–more than before–your guide to the most current articles. New articles will have the word NEW next to the title. Forthcoming articles will have a date when they will be published. During the month of February I will be introducing a few more new changes. The goal is to make going from one page to the next as easy and stress free as possible. I know all too well what it’s like to be on a website and lose track of your place and not be able to find it again. No fun!

This time you will find two NEW articles:

And with Time Came Change… highlights Malta by Nan Hawthorne

A Day in an Animal’s Life… highlights The Lynx & Amber by Nela Leja

Forthcoming in January and February:

Keeper of the Realm by Linda Abel

And the Saints Go Marching… by Denise Domning

TMC is proud to announce that the forthcoming Feature Article this time will be by Shelly Thacker. Shelly, a National Bestselling Author of historical and paranormal romance says, “I’m celebrating an exciting new chapter in my career: I’ve joined the digital revolution as an indie [independent] author. I’ll be publishing my entire backlist and all my future work as e-books.” I met Shelly at a writer’s conference shortly after she published her first book in 1991. It’s wonderful to have her return to TMC and the publishing world.

Don’t know if I mentioned it yet but I got a B&N Nook Tablet for Christmas. I will admit I have been a holdout for quite awhile because I do love ‘holding a book’. But after three days of reading on the Nook, I’m hooked! The ability to set the font size, the back-lighting, check on the definition of a word, highlight an area I wish to return too… the list goes on. I will never lose my love to hold a book be it hard cover or soft but I am now–most definitely–part of the book world’s digital age. And happy to be here! Oh, some great news… I downloaded to my Nook TMC’s PDF and they, too, have all the capabilities I mentioned previously. Needless to say, I was thrilled!!

From your Faithful Scribe, Enjoy!

Good day to you all,

Can you believe it? The holiday season is upon us once again. It seems like only yesterday…

Because of all that has happened since this summer and my not being able to publish as scheduled, I have chosen to call this issue the Holiday issue. It’s a wonderful issue filled with articles I know you will enjoy. Currently, there are three new articles:

St. Bernardine of Siena by Denise Domning (And the Saints Go Marching…)

Advent at the Monastery by Anita Gordon (The Cistercians)

Battle of Clontarf by Nan Hawthorne (And With Time Came Change…)
Sharon Kay Penman’s Feature article is still available on this issue’s home page.

Next weekend I will be publishing A Day in an Animal’s Life… by Nela Leja. Nela has also written a special Christmas article that you don’t want to miss. It’ll be published very soon.

My brother’s passing has been hard but your thoughtful emails and comforting words have helped more than you will ever know. Thank you.

From all of us at TMC, may this holiday season be filled with joy, peace and love,
Linda, Anita, Denise, Nan and Nela

Good eventide to you all!

TMC is proud to present an article by Sharon Kay Penman entitled A Captive Queen. In 1193 Ingeborg, sister of the Danish King Cnut VI was betrothed to Philippe Capet, King of France. Learn about her marriage and her fight for her rights as Queen as Philippe announces once the wedding ceremony was done that the marriage was over and he would have it annulled. Go to http://www.themedievalchronicle.com/ where you will find A Captive Queen at the bottom of the scroll (click on the title).

Sharon’s book LionHeart will be in stores October 4th. As the Third Crusade comes to life on the page, Sharon takes us to the Holy Land and into the world of Richard the Lionheart and Saladin. We will also journey to England as John, Richard’s youngest brother, tries to steal his crown. October 4th can’t get here fast enough for me!

I love Autumn–it’s my favorite time of the year–and it’s finally come to Oklahoma! Here’s hoping that you can say the same about where you live.

Here’s to saying goodbye to 100+ degree days and saying hello to many hours of happy reading in front of a blazing fire in the fireplace with your four-legged animals curled up next to you.

Good eventide to you all!

The latest issue of The Medieval Chronicle is now ready for your enjoyment. FINALLY!
You’ll find it at http://www.themedievalchronicle.com/

As always, this issue is filled with wonderful articles that are not only entertaining but educational. The three articles that are being presented at this time are some of the best that TMC has published.

Beginning with this issue TMC will no longer be publishing on a bi-monthly basis but instead will be publishing fewer articles each issue. The hope is to have new and interesting articles coming on a more regular basis. (Also, this new schedule should work much better with my day job!)

On the home page’s scroll you’ll see two articles listed that will be published in the coming weeks. The first, written by Anita Gordon, is a fantastic account of The Daily Life of the Choir Monks and Cistercian Sign Language. I am still working on the layout and design so as to do justice to the wealth of information she has given us. The other article which is the Feature article entitled The Gutenberg Press should be ready for publication towards the end of this month.

Enjoy! from your Faithful Scribe, Linda
