Walter Scott Prize has 3 Medieval Historicals on it’s short list!!

Hello everyone!

Just heard some great news that I wanted to share.  The Walter Scott Prize is a new prize to be given for historical fiction.  They just announced their short list and 3 of the 7 books on the list are within the timeline of The Medieval Chronicle.  Please visit http://news.scotsman.com/books/Shortlist-for-the-Walter-Scott.6194061.jp to see the list.  The books are Hodd by Adam Thorpe, Sacred Hearts by Sarah Dunant and Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel.

The Chair of Judges for The Walter Scott Prize, Alistair Moffat states,  “The strength and breadth of entries for the first year of the prize indicates a growing appetite for historical fiction in direct contrast to a waning of the study of history.”  This is wonderful news for all of us who love historicals.  To read an article published by The Scotsman please visit http://news.scotsman.com/books/-The-25000-Walter-Scott.6189015.jp
